Total financial charge borne by households for the occupation of their main residence
This is the annual cost relative to the right to occupy the main residence borne by the household, total charges included. - The gross total financial charge is the sum of the gross financial charge and the annual amount of total charges. This indicator makes it possible to compare current annual expenses in terms of accommodation functioning independently of the way in which they are paid, all expense items being included in the total financial charge. The example of heating speaks for itself: whether it is collective for a household in a residence (so included in occupancy expenses) or individual for a household in a detached house (so paid for as part of individual expenses), it is included in the total charges. - The net total financial charge is obtained by subtracting the annual amount of housing benefit received by the household from the gross total financial charge.
