Total population (national accounts)

The total population is calculated at a given date. Nevertheless, the annual mean of the number of inhabitants provides an appropriate basis for estimating the variables of the national accounts or as a denominator in the case of comparisons.This main rule contains however certain exceptions (students in particular).
