Chemical crimping
Chemical crimping: a crinkled or puckered effect in fabric obtained by printing sodiumhydroxide onto the goods in a planned design. When the material is washed, the part to which the paste has been applied will shrink and cause untreated areas to pucker. The same effect is obtained with a caustic resist print and a sodium hydroxide bath.
