Meaning of Oslo Manual

The Oslo Manual is the foremost international source of guidelines for the collection and use of data on industrial innovation. The third edition (2005) takes account of the progress made in understanding the innovation process and its economic impact. It also takes account of the experience gained from the previous round of innovation surveys in OECD countries and in non-member countries. For the first time, the Manual analyses non-technological innovation (organisational and marketing innovation) and the links between the various types of innovation. It also contains an annex on the implementation of surveys covering this theme in developing countries.
