Social benefits (or social transfers)
Social benefits (or social transfers) are transfers made (in cash or in kind) to persons or families to lighten the financial burden of protection from various risks. They are associated with six major categories of risk : - Old age and survival (pensions, survivor's benefit pension, dependency care) , - Health (total or partial coverage of costs related to illness, disability, occupational accidents and illnesses) , - Maternity-family (family benefits, maternity-related benefits, family allowances, aid for child care) , - Loss of employment (unemployment benefit) and difficulties related to professional integration or re-integration , - Housing difficulties (housing benefit), - Poverty and social exclusion (statutory minimum: minimum integration income (RSA), minimum old age pension, etc.).
