Social integration contract / CIVIS
The Social Integration Contract (CIVIS), and in particular its "employment support" strand, was introduced in 2005. It targets young people between the ages of 16 and 25 with a low level of qualifications who are encountering particular difficulties finding employment. The aim is to organise the action required to support their project to find lasting employment. The contract is signed with one of the local careers guidance and information agencies or offices (PAIO). It is valid for a renewable one-year term. Holders of a CIVIS who are under the age of 18 may benefit from State support in the form of an allowance paid during periods when they are receiving neither a wage for a job or an internship, nor any other allowance.
