Olympic medal
Olympic medal the » medal awarded to the three best athletes at an olympic competition. The medals have a minimum diameter of 6 cm, a thickness of 3 mm, and are given (hung around the neck on a band or chain) to the athletes at the awards ceremony following the competition.
